The advertisements below are from some of our TSAV members. They may or may not have puppies for sale but you are welcome to contact them to discuss puppies or the breed in general. However, here are some points to consider when choosing your Tibbie: Tibetan Spaniels are a beautiful breed of dog with a temperament to match, they love being a part of the family and as time goes by you will soon come to realise that you no longer own them - they own you! Tibetan Spaniels are not a kennel dog and therefore should not be subjected to that type of situation - the environmental conditions they live in is most important to their temperament in the long term. Potential buyers should avoid any breeder who mass produces large numbers of puppies from large numbers of dogs, WHERE TOO MANY DOGS ARE BEING KEPT AND CANNOT RECEIVE THE INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION AS REQUIRED. In Australia we recommend to make your selection from a reputable breeder who is registered with the governing Canine Association of each State and are covered by the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC) Code of Ethics. If a breeder tests for various diseases, feel free to ask to see proof for the stock you are buying from. If you have any queries please contact the TSAV.

Our sojourn into showing and breeding Tibetan Spaniels started in 1997. Our first Tibbie was Lynandra Solopformance (Buster).

We imported Ch Souska It’s Magic from the Souska Kennel in the UK and he has been an integral part of our breeding program.

Currently we are showing our own breeding - Maitreya Royal Destiny (Destiny), Maitreya Exclusive Edition (Henry) & Maitreya Tibetan Idol (Dolli). We have had some lovely wins over the years, one of our highlights was in 2009 at the TSCNSW Specialty Show where Ch Maitreya Celestial Star (Celeste) won Bitch CC & R/Up Best in Show and Ch Maitreya Ace Majestik (Ace) won the Reserve Dog CC. The judge was Mrs Jane Gregory, UK.

Ch Maitreya LaFemme Nikita has also done us proud, amongst her many wins are two RBCC at TSCNSW Specialty Show, RUBOB at Sydney Royal she has also had RUBIG wins and Classes in Group.

We test for PRA and all our pups are given a complete health screening by the vet who checks for luxating patella, heart, hernias, etc. All pups are vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed & heart wormed.

Hans and I started in Tibetan Spaniels in 1997 when we purchased Janaia and as everyone says, they are like potato chips - we found ourselves going back for another, our precious Cochise. We have imported Golden Annie.

She is out of PZazz Royal Ronja and Finnish Ch Teekos Donegal Danny At Souska, and of late Pzazz Magic Star out of multi champions Mango’s Pentagon and Pzazz Qummin. Thanks Cathrin.

We test for Liver Shunt and PRA (certificates available) and also luxating patella. Our puppies are thoroughly checked for any other signs of abnormalities, i.e. heart and hernias by Young Veterinary Clinic.

My partner Tim and I bought our first Tibbie, Kramer (Aust Grand Ch Buquet Midnight Sun) in 1994. It was through Kramer that we developed a real love for the breed and then our Tibbie family expanded: Lexie (Aust Ch Toreana Galaxy Belle) arrived in 1996; Barney (Aust Ch Tibrockney Gold Kizui), son of Kramer & Lexie, in 1998; Gypsy (Aust Grand Ch Toreana Gypsy Rose) in 2001; Fergus (Aust Grand Ch Niknar Debonair At Tibrockney [Imp UK]) arrived from Scotland in 2002; then Molly (Aust Ch Tibrockney Melrose Molly), daughter of Fergus & Gypsy, in 2003.

Fergus, Gypsy & Molly have become the most successfully shown Tibbie family in Australia winning the following (all under international specialist judges):

I have been involved in the breeding and showing of dogs since 1954. I have had many Toy breeds but in 1978 I found Tibetan Spaniels. These smart, happy little people now consume my whole life. I love their naturalness, their wicked sense of humour and their overall adoration of you. I just cant live without them. My dogs are with me all day as they are house dogs and they enjoy "helping" me with the everyday chores.

I recently bought four new males from overseas, to expand our rather small gene pool here in Australia. Firstly, Royal Bonzo from Sweden, then Pelden Vom Sunnestarn and Odschan Vom Sunnestarn from Switzerland and lastly, Kri Kris Caesar from Denmark. All of these boys quickly became Australian Champions and are proven at stud. Progeny of them are now scattered throughout Australia and New Zealand and are making their own mark in the show ring.

These are always desexed before leaving and over the years I have found some wonderful "forever" homes for them. My dogs are in all states of Australia and many countries around the world.

I have the whole range of colours and some of the rarer colours that have been lost in some countries. All of my boys including the imports are at stud to approved bitches. I test for PRA and liver shunt and only breed from healthy clear stock.

Maxine Heather (Xinlu) - Jindera, NSW

      

I purchased my first Tibetan Spaniel "Tashi" in 2007. We have always had German Shepherd Dogs and wanted a small dog that would fit in with our Shepherds and our two young children. Well Tashi certainly fitted in!  I then decided that I wanted to get into showing dogs so I purchased Ch Barrajy Nima. Then my young son turned 7 years and wanted to start showing too so along came Ch Barrajy Fasination whom he has had great success in showing. In 2010 we then added Wencyn Kung Foo Panda to our family.

All our Tibbies are tested for PRA and liver shunt.  We are expecting our first litter in 2011.

Tibetan Spaniels have now taken over as our main breed. They are a delight to own, great with the children and get along great with our other animals, I would never be without them now.
